The fund is governed by a five (5) member Board of Directors composed of two (2) representatives from GCX, two (2) representatives from Ministry of Finance and one (1) representative from Venture captital Trust Fund
MEET THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Mr. Patrick Ato Ashun is a Chartered Accountant/ Finance Expert by
profession with over 20 years of experience in both the Public and the Private
Sector. His areas of expertise include Accountancy, Business, Finance &
Strategy, Investments, Entrepreneurship, Project Management, supply chain
management, international business, marketing and marketing strategy, human
resource management, Leadership and Law. Patrick's Public-Sector experience
involved holding the position of Accountant at the Controller and Accountant
General Department between 1994- 2000. In this role, he was responsible for
reconciliation of the government consolidated accounts, preparation of
departmental budgets, monitored and reported on government revenue collection
targets, Preparation of reports on balances of Government Accounts held at Bank
of Ghana and reported same to the Controller and Accountant General
Mrs. Kessewa Brown has over 30 years of combined work experience in Audit, Compliance, Accounting, Finance, Governance, Operations, Technology and People strategies. Skilled at partnering with Executives, Senior, Middle level managers to provide support and guidance to achieve and exceed strategic management and people objectives. Have a proven track record for successfully empowering individuals and teams through training (induction, leadership, diversity), coaching, effective feedback, mentoring, encouraging creativity, and recognition efforts and strategies.
Tucci is the CEO of the Ghana Commodity Exchange. She is an
experienced business leader with over 20 years’ experience in marketing and
general business management in the UK and emerging markets of Southeast Asia
and Sub-Saharan Africa. With her background in managing multi-million-dollar
businesses across the value chains in coffee and cocoa for Nestle, in 2018 she
was engaged as part of the core team tasked to establish the Ghana Commodity
Exchange, becoming its founding Deputy CEO. Tucci’s drive for innovation across
the value chain has enabled business success through positive economic growth
cycles, but more so through socio-political and economic turbulence.
Francisca Amoako Awuku is a chartered Accountant with over fifteen (15) years progressive working experience in banking and related industries. She joined Venture Capital Trust Fund as an Internal Auditor and is currently the Head of Finance and Administration. Prior to joining Venture Capital Trust Fund, she worked as the Head of Audit at Bank of Africa overseeing internal control and auditing functions of the Bank. She started her career at Ernst & Young where she worked on auditing projects for companies such as AngloGoId Ashanti, Ghacem, Hull Blyth, OLAM Ghana, Ghana AIDS Commission, and Roman Ridge School amongst others.
She has attended several training programmes both locally and internationally.
Francisca holds an MBA in Finance from Oxford Brookes University (UK), and a BA (Hons) French & Psychology from the University of Ghana. She's a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana (ICA).
Mr. Owoo is a Lawyer by profession and also holds a BSc in Mathematics
from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and an MSc in Finance and Management
from the Exeter University, UK. He
started his professional career with the Securities and Exchange Commission,
Ghana where he worked in various capacities and has thirteen (13) years’
experience in Securities (Capital Market) Regulations and Supervision. Mr. Owoo
served as the project director for the Ghana Commodity Exchange project from
2013 and led the Ghana team to design the current Ghana Commodity Exchange
(GCX) model for Ghana. One of the founding members of the GCX, he is currently
the Chief Operations Officer of the GCX doubling up as the head of legal and
compliance.
