CADeF BOARD ENGAGES FARMERS
CADeF BOARD ENGAGES FARMERS AT THE BONO AND ASHANTI REGIONS


With the sole aim of providing liquidity for aggregators and brokers who trade on the platform of the Ghana Commodity Exchange. The Board members of the Commodity Aggregation Development Fund embarked on a two-day trip to the Bono and Ashanti Regions. The Board represented by the Chairman Mr. Ato Ashun and CEO and COO of the Ghana Commodity Exchange, Mrs. Tucci Ivowi and Mr. Robert Dowuona Owoo respectively. 

The purpose of this engagement was to reach out to some aggregators, smallholder farmers and other stakeholders to sensitize and create awareness of GCX products and services and also to address some concerns. The Board members seized the opportunity to acquaint themselves with the operations of the GCX Warehouses in Wenchi and Kumasi. 

The Board visited Buasu a community in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region of Ghana, where about 30 farmers were engaged, the farmers shared their experiences trading with the Exchange, they also highlighted some concerns that posed as hindrances to them not being able to patronize GCX services. The Board Chair Mr. Ato Ashun assured the farmers their concerns were well received, and the necessary actions will be to resolve them. 

The Board Chairman commended the management of the Ghana commodity Exchange for the good works being done and encouraged them to continue the good works of improving the livelihood of smallholder farmers. He also assured that the CADeF board will work diligently to ensure improved liquidity at the GCX warehouses.
